We welcome all children (and parents!)
This age group is predominantly for school Year 5 children. We play rugby under the Warwickshire RFU Pilot scheme.
If your child is interested in joining us, please just turn up to one of our training sessions on a Sunday morning (10.30am - midday) or on a Thursday evening (6.30pm - 8.00pm).
If you haven't been before, please turn up a little earlier to meet the Age Group Co-Ordinator.
About the Under 10’s
The under 10’s play contact rugby and we welcome both boys and girls to the team. Our ethos is to give every child an equal opportunity to learn, play and enjoy rugby. We play to win but not at the expense of teamwork, participation and most importantly enjoyment. We want all the children to understand the core principles of rugby, to have fun and hopefully play in a team in which they make friends for life.
During this season we introduce rucks, mauls and non contested scrums.
All our coaches are RFU qualified and some still actively play for the senior club.
We put great emphasis on training and it is more important than matches. Please ensure that your child is adequately clothed as they can always take layers off if they get too warm.
Please ensure they have a well fitted gum-shield.
No hoodies (as we don't want the hoods being grabbed while running).
Please make sure they have a drink that they bring out with them and where possible some fruit to eat as well.
We play a number of fixtures throughout the season both at home and away. Please respond to your club emails or Teamer invites so we know that you are aware of where your child should be. At this age, unlike some clubs, we believe in giving every child a game and winning is not the only thing we play for. We want to see your child improving their skills and as a team progressing each week.
As coaches we are all very competitive people however we see the benefit of building a team with every child playing their part.
If you have any concerns about any the activities your child does or just want to discuss anything please come and talk to any of us.
